Welcome

WDCAC President, Cherie Brown Jackson

Greetings!

On behalf of the Washington DC Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., I welcome you to our official website.  It is my sincere honor and privilege to serve as the 49th President of the Washington DC Alumnae Chapter (WDCAC).  We are a membership of over 400 diverse, talented, and dedicated college-educated women working together and advocating for the citizens of Washington, DC.  With members ranging in age from their early twenties to ninety-nine, we offer something for everyone coming from varied perspectives.

The Washington DC Alumnae Chapter was chartered on February 3, 1921.  We are proud of our history and continue to serve the community with enthusiasm.  Additionally, our community fundraisers are created to benefit scholarships and other charitable educational purposes.  Our signature fundraiser, Distinguished Men Cookin’ with the Deltas, is in its 15th year.  And this fall we are introducing another fundraiser, Sunday Best Gospel Brunch.  Annually, we award over $30,000 to high school seniors from the District of Columbia and continuing scholarship recipients. For almost 100 years, WDCAC has provided effective and impactful programs directly aligned with the Sorority’s National Five-Point Programmatic Thrust of:

  • Economic Development
  • Educational Development
  • International Awareness and Involvement
  • Physical and Mental Health
  • Political Awareness and Involvement

If you are a member of our illustrious and dynamic sisterhood and are looking for a chapter home, I invite you to join us at a chapter meeting and/or chapter event.  You will be welcomed with open arms.  If you are a member of the community, please support our public events and/or fundraisers so we can continue the legacy of great work our 22 Founders began on January 13, 1913.

We thank you for visiting and encourage you to learn more about us by visiting all areas of our website.  Please come back again and again to ensure you are aware of any upcoming events as we continue to effect a positive change in Washington, DC.  Please also visit us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
